What is a “Vintage Cruiser?”
The Vintage Cruiser is a line of travel-trailer campers produced by Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. These are hard-wall campers with modern fiberglass roof and walls on a welded-aluminum frame and modern amenities, yet are decorated in the style of 1950s campers. Based on Gulf Stream’s “Vista Cruiser” model line, several floor plans are available, from 17-foot to 23-foot boxes, including slides on some models.
Why did the Vintage Cruiser become so popular so quickly?
We’re tired of campers decorated with brown-on-brown random swoopy shapes, like boring corporate logos. We’re tired of “chestnut” and “fawn” interior color schemes, that also just mean brown-on-brown. But we still like to have industry-standard components like air conditioners and refrigerators, and we like the convenience of microwave ovens and electric tongue jacks. We like our abodes-on-the-road to have character, and to make us feel cheerful when we see them, and to reflect our own tastes even with only minor decoration and customizing. The Vintage Cruiser is a great platform on which to build our dream homes on wheels.
